Major cybersecurity agenda revealed for Canalys Forums 2022
Shanghai (China), Bengaluru (India), Singapore, Reading (UK) and Portland (US) – Wednesday, 21 September 2022
The Canalys Forums 2022 will include one of the most substantial cybersecurity agendas in the events’ 15-year history. Critically, the Forums have the support of the world's leading cybersecurity vendors, including Trend Micro, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point Software, F5, Broadcom Software (Symantec), Trellix and eSentire.
The Canalys Forums are the most important independent IT channel events in the world, bringing together senior decision-makers from vendors and partners. IT buyers are increasing their cybersecurity budgets to improve their resiliency across prevention, detection, response and recovery. Channel partners are capitalizing on those significant opportunities to help customers defend against ever-growing cybersecurity threats. Cybersecurity distributors have a vital role to play in simplifying the complexity.
“Cybersecurity is one of the biggest business challenges of our time and the time to act is now,” said Jesper Trolle, CEO of Exclusive Networks. “The scale, sophistication and velocity of attacks are overwhelming many organizations. The fragmentation and complexity of cyber-solutions, coupled with an acute cyber-skills deficit, are creating huge problems for security teams around the world. It will take a cyber-ecosystem approach to overcome these challenges and what better place for that ecosystem to come together than at the Canalys Forums?”
Patrick Aronson, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of APAC at Westcon-Comstor, said, “As threats increase, cybersecurity continues to move to the top of the priority list for companies of all shapes and sizes. In a complex landscape, the partner ecosystem is critical in bringing effective solutions to our businesses and communities.
“Westcon-Comstor relies on the analysis and research from Canalys and from events like the Canalys Forums so that we can ensure partner success and provide not only solutions but the real-world insights that our channel partners need to protect their communities.”
Simon England, CEO of Nuvias Group, said, “It is incumbent upon us all in the channel to help businesses navigate heightened security challenges as a result of a hybrid workforce, larger volumes of data and fast-changing regulations. Intelligent and targeted prevention is what customers demand, translating into a worthwhile investment to protect their networks.”
At the forums, Canalys analysts will explore the opportunities for partners in emerging areas, such as XDR, zero trust and SASE, as well as the challenges facing partners within the cybersecurity ecosystem, such as the severe skills shortage, security alert fatigue and the fragmented vendor landscape.
Matthew Ball, Chief Analyst at Canalys, said, “Ransomware attacks remain the biggest cybersecurity threat for all organizations, because of the economic impact from lost operations and the cost of recovery. Threat actors are exploiting software vulnerabilities, poor patch management, insider threats and limited integration between vendors, and capitalizing on new attack vectors introduced by digital transformation and hybrid working.”
During the events, analysts will facilitate cybersecurity Expert Hubs, where subject matter experts from channel partners, distributors and vendors will explore these key cybersecurity themes.
The Canalys Forums are the most important independent channel events in the world, now celebrating their fifteenth year in EMEA and tenth year in APAC. This year's events will be held in Barcelona from 18 to 20 October and Singapore from 15 to 17 November.
Sponsorships are still available for vendors that wish to engage, recruit and communicate with the audience of senior channel decision-makers. Contact Canalys to discuss options.
