Canalys unveils new brand image

Palo Alto, Singapore and Reading (UK) – Wednesday 27 July 2011

Canalys today revealed enhancements to its brand image, including a new logo and public web site. The changes reflect the company’s expanding global service offering, as well as its shift to more customer-centric data delivery. Clients of the analyst firm will now receive data and analysis specifically geared toward their industry roles, whether they are technology industry professionals, service provider professionals or channel professionals.

‘This is the first significant revamp to the company’s image since its founding over a decade ago,’ said Canalys, President and CEO Steve Brazier. ‘We wanted a new look to mirror our business growth and evolving global service offerings without compromising our core values of high-quality customer service, best-in-class data analysis and innovative programs.’

The company’s new ‘eye’ logo symbolizes Canalys’ insight into industry trends, while its shape and colors represent its global presence and commitment to strategic routes- to-market analysis across all its services.

The brand modifications support the company’s ongoing emphasis on innovative web-based customer solutions, such as its recently launched client web site. The new client site makes it easier for customers to search, share and save relevant information with numerous tools, such as live ‘views’ and folders that can be shared with colleagues. Canalys will introduce additional improvements to the site, including new ways of presenting research and analysis and communicating with analysts, over the coming weeks.

‘Customer service has always been at the heart of Canalys’ strategy,’ said Brazier. ‘We’re constantly striving to make it easier and more rewarding for companies to do business with us.’

The analyst firm also continues to enhance Candefero, its unique online channel partner community. Several thousand members strong, Candefero offers high-quality market intelligence and trends analysis, free of charge, to channel partners. Partners gain strategic insight, while influencing vendor programs, leveraging best practice sharing and interacting with Canalys analysts.

The Candefero community forms the backbone of the Canalys Channels Forum, which unites senior managers from leading technology vendors, distributors and channel partners to discuss industry trends, forge new business relationships, and create sales opportunities. Over 2,000 one-to-one business meetings took place at last year’s event, via an easy-to-use online tool. This year’s Forum, ‘From cloud to clarity,’ will take place from 3-5 October in Barcelona.

‘Since its founding, Canalys has been at the forefront of mobility, channel and converged technology data and services,’ said Canalys Marketing and Events Director Rita Chaher. ‘Now, we’re strengthening our ability to share that expertise and deliver even more targeted analysis. Whether it is at the Canalys Channels Forum or through the web, our goal is to ensure customers gain the best possible return on investment.’

The brand updates closely follow the launch of new or enhanced subscription services, such as the company’s Mobile App Store Analysis, which delivers strategic insight to executives responsible for launching and managing mobile app stores. The innovative service combines Canalys’ leadership in tracking IT channels, as well as the smart phone and mobile PC industries, with qualitative analysis from senior analysts around the world.
