Rachel Lashford leads Canalys’ worldwide marketing and communications activities, responsible for the promotion of the company and our portfolio of subscription services. She is currently based in the Bengaluru office leading the analyst, digital and marketing team there as the company continues to expand its presence.

In her previous role at Canalys, she was leading a global team of industry analysts and technology product-based services. She also worked in Singapore for nine years, leading Canalys’ APAC operations after having established the company’s first office in the region in 2006. This was followed by the opening of the Shanghai office in 2011. Rachel joined Canalys in September 2000 as a Research Analyst, growing her expertise in the mobility space.

Rachel is a highly experienced speaker, MC and panel facilitator- most recent topics covered include improving diversity in the tech industry and emerging technologies. She is widely quoted in the top-tier press, as well as appearing regularly on major news channels. She has advised clients around the world and has been involved in numerous custom projects.

Before Canalys, Rachel worked in the industrial chemicals industry for Bayer. She graduated from Warwick University with an Honors Degree in Philosophy and participated in INSEAD’s "Leading for Results" program. She holds a certificate in Digital Marketing from Cornell University and recently completed a course in Diversity and Inclusion from the University of California, Irvine. Rachel enjoys practicing yoga, participating in the New Era Players community theatre where she acts and helps run the group, and playing the flute—albeit not very well—in a pub-based folk group.
