Steve Brazier

President & CEO

Steve founded Canalys in 1998 to build a global technology analyst and research firm, that recognized the role of the distribution channel. He remains laser focussed on this goal today, building Canalys reputation across the technology industry and firmly establishing the company as one of the best known, and most quoted technology analyst firms.

Canalys has come to be a thought leader across tech sectors as diverse as cybersecurity, IoT, smart devices, the cloud, and, most recently, tech in cars. It has a client list that reads like a who’s who of the tech industry, and it would be easier to list which major tech companies do not work with them than write about those that do. Canalys has also developed a reputation for industry-shaping, high-quality events, through its global series of Canalys Forums, where it drives the tech partner community to ever greater success.

Steve’s drive has shaped Canalys into a global organization, having offices in India, China, the US, the UK, Colombia, and Singapore, plus a team working remotely all around the world. He has also championed for diversity at the workplace, which has been essential for Canalys’ success, and he has worked hard to maintain an employee base and management team that is close as possible to 50% male/female, where all races and religions are welcomed with open arms.

In 2020, Steve, through Canalys, launched Canapii, a new company based on its popular digital Event Management Platform. Currently, his new goal is to make Canapii the leading platform for virtual, onsite, and hybrid events by delivering amazing user experiences, and sophisticated tools for event managers.

Canapii’s unveiling is timed well to deal with the disruption caused to the events industry by Covid but has been in development inside Canalys for some ten years – it has long been the secret sauce behind the success of the Canalys Forums.

Steve holds a Joint Honors Degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Bristol, UK. He also completed an International Executive Management Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in the United States.
